Easter Baskets

After making the scallop square rag purse I decided to try my hand at some scallop envelope Easter baskets. Well it was a real learning experience! I cut small squares out of patterned fabric and put batting between the fabric and felt to give the basket support. Batting between layers of felt also gives the handle stability. We filled the baskets with animal crackers, gummy worms, chocolate eggs and a stuffed animal. We did a small treasure hunt with clues from the Easter Bunny and the baskets were the prize at the end!
